Busy As A Bee

This past summer I spent some time at Walden Pond, including the former site of Thoreau’s cabin. Walking around inside the small square of his home, outlined now by only a few granite stones, I gazed out to the view he would have seen. It was serene and beautiful and oh so quiet.

I am reminded, given the current frenzy of midterms, just how valuable rest and respite are. Achievement can be a double-edged sword.....

"It is not enough to be busy. So are the ants. The question is: What are we busy about?" - Henry David Thoreau
